Restaurants are in no particular order…
Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse
Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse is a classy sports bar. It has a modern but cozy red brick interior with more than enough TV screens to keep the most ardent sports fan happy. Buffalo blue cheese chips and garlic chips are popular starters. For the main, choose from the large variety of wings with different spice levels and the house special – mommoo’s wings – all served with a choice of hand-cut fries. The extensive draft beer list should quench your thirst. This is a good place for a chill night with friends or a relaxed evening with the family.
Café 100 is a family-owned restaurant serving traditional American breakfast and lunch staples. The interior of the converted blue house is small and welcoming, with works by local artists brightening up the walls. On a warm day, you can enjoy the shaded, spacious terrace. The staff is cheerful and helpful. The portions err on the generous side, so be sure to arrive hungry, ready to explore the numerous specials on the menu, which normally involve some waffles – including the infamous café waffle – and fluffy pancakes.

Red Rocks Café
Red Rocks Café is a stalwart of the Huntersville dining scene, with its smart terrace and warm, modern interior. The leather booths by the windows are ideal for an extended lunch. Even demanding wine buffs will find something on the very long wine list. Customers rave about the grouper and the prime beef filet. Alternatively, try one of the many creative ravioli, including spinach and walnut ravioli or shrimp and grits ravioli.
Killingtons Restaurant & Pub
Killington’s Restaurant & Pub is a good sports bar with open spaces, high ceilings, and plenty of TV screens. This casual pub with a fun but relaxed vibe has something for everyone, from kid’s menus to special teen’s menus and even a late night menu. Favorites include toasted ravioli and meatloaf sourdough sandwiches. And there’s even a special mash potato for every day of the month, from spinach & feta to goat cheese & scallions.
Don’t be put off by the airport lounge interiors. According to fans, Rocky’s Pizza serves the best traditional New York-style pizza in the area. There is a large choice of fresh toppings for the thin crunchy base. Service is speedy and friendly, and the atmosphere reminiscent of your neighborhood local. The calzone is particularly popular, as are the sides of cheesy bread, garlic knots, and fresh salads. For a break from pizza, try the succulent chicken wings.
Dressler’s Restaurant is an upscale steakhouse which, with its elegant interior and professional service, makes a good venue for a celebration or a formal dinner. Popular appetizers include the pimento cheese and crab dip, while shrimp and lobster linguini and filet mignon are favorite mains. Let yourself be tempted by pudding with a smooth New York cheesecake or the delicious apple cake. This is a place for fine dining accompanied by an extensive and grown-up wine list, including a wide champagne selection from Taittinger to Veuve Clicquot.
Verde Mexican & Nuevo Latin Fusion
Verde Mexican & Nuevo Latin Fusion is not your average Mexican restaurant. It offers a creative approach, blending different Latin flavors — including Cuban, thanks to its Cuban-born chef. The modern and light space is friendly and relaxed, with outdoor seating for summer days. The dishes are beautifully presented. The shrimp ceviche and ropa vieja with shredded beef are popular, but save some space for the desserts, including dulce de leche crème brûlée or churros. Try the flight of margaritas to experience the great range on offer! It’s a difficult choice between blood orange or tamarind margaritas.
Mickey & Mooch
Despite its unpromising location in a shopping center, Mickey & Mooch is worth a visit. This is a relaxed but smart steakhouse. The romantic lighting makes it suitable for date night. With live music at least three nights of the week, it’s also good to start your night out. Mickey & Mooch is renowned for steaks and cooks them to your order. The jumbo lump crab cakes are another standout dish, with plenty of real crab meat. Save room for the award-winning chocolate mousse cake – all seven layers of it!
If you’re looking for a change from steak, try Phở Ginseng, with its authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Items on the traditional menu include steamed rice with BBQ pork chop, shredded pork skin and egg or grilled chicken vermicelli with mint & basil. But it is the phở, the Vietnamese beef bone broth, that has set local tongues wagging. Try the raw beef version or the chicken phở – phở ga. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn’t have an alcohol license; try the Vietnamese coffee or the selection of teas which includes ginseng and oolong.
eeZ Fusion & Sushi
Huntersville sushi fans flock to eeZ Fusion & Sushi for its fresh fish, good service, and ample portions. As the name implies, the food is innovative, with popular choices including Birkdale roll with shrimp and tempura asparagus or the turfin’ surfer with crab and lobster in one. But it’s also not just about the sushi. Try blackened tuna nachos or the stir-fry bar. Wash it all down with a sake sampler flight and enjoy the fresh and modern ambiance.
