Mixed-use project in Huntersville gets the green light

Vermillion Village in Huntersville, NC  (North Carolina) –  A mixed-use center across a 30-acre swath of land in Huntersville, NC Real Estate received approval from the town last week and will soon break ground.

Locally based developers MPV Properties and Bowman Development Group will develop a town-center project called Vermillion Village on a large site between North Church Street and Huntersville-Concord Road. The project was initially called Anchor Mill, which hearkens back to the area’s former use as a textile mill.

MPV PROPERTIES

Vermillion Village will initially include a 78,000-square-foot supermarket anchor and 18,000 square feet of retail space in addition to 400 residential units.

The land sale is expected to close in July, according to MPV.

The developers have committed to at least $250,000 toward road improvements to mitigate increased traffic volume as a result of the project. Road projects could include widening Huntersville-Concord Road, additional turn lanes at intersections near the development or improved neighborhood flow and access points, according to MPV.

Estimated timeline for the project is three to five years, with the retail portion kicking off first.

Steve Vermillion at MPV is the development consultant on the project. MPV is developing the commercial components, and Bowman is managing the residential portion.
